Featuring local screenwriter Tobin Addington.
Since its inception MTFF has featured live screenplay readings, many of which have gone on to become major releases. This year, join us for a free public reading of Tobin Addington’s Eleanor of Aquitane: The Hawk & the Lion.
Eleanor of Aquitane: The Hawk & the Lion is the first episode of a limited historical drama series that charts the remarkable true story of the rise to power of the most notorious queen of the Middle Ages — a woman who betrayed a king, defied an era, and forged an empire that changed the world forever. Set in Paris in the mid-1100s, the young, ambitious Queen of France finds herself all but a prisoner of a repressive and patriarchal court, married to an increasingly fanatical king, and far from the beloved homeland she was raised to rule. Our script follows her as she sets out to free herself and regain control of her own destiny.
