Note: Brunch is a private, invitation-only event for filmmakers and special guests. The Treasure State Studios open house is open to the public. RSVP is welcomed but not required.

Kev Campbell, the Media Incentive and Grant Specialist at the Montana Department of Commerce Film Office provides a thorough overview of the basic business elements required to apply for the Big Sky Film Grant, which likely will be very competitive. A complete application and demonstrated readiness are essential to furthering the application in the grant selection review process. Information will be shared on best practices for completing the grant application as well as conducting business in the state (business structure, registering with the IRS and the Montana Secretary of State’s Office, insurance, accounting, and much more). Both first-time and returning applicants are encouraged to attend.

This one-hour session provides a deep diver into the elements of the grant application and builds upon information provided in the Business Basics for BSFG. Presented by Kev Campbell, the Media Incentive and Grant Specialist with special guest filmmaker and two-time BSFG grant recipient Lauren Norby who together will share tips on how to maximize the uniqueness of your project and elevate your competitiveness in the upcoming grant cycle. The focus will be on the sections for project details, budget, funding and the ever important Special Considerations section.
