Steve Zahn stars as Troy, a troubled but well-intentioned father who has recently separated from his wife Sally (Jillian Bell). Aghast at Sally's refusal to let their trans son Joe (Sasha Knight) live as his authentic self, Troy runs off with Joe into the Montana wilderness. Meanwhile a police detective (Ann Dowd) pursues them, but her resolve about the case is tested the more she learns about Joe's family. Cowboys, a modern-day Western from director Anna Kerrigan, is a tale of rescue, family betrayal, and a father and son on the run.

We are in the final minutes of the 6th Annual Mont We are in the final minutes of the 6th Annual Montana Film Festival.

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WATCH CINEMA.

And thank you to our new friends at @xerbtv for making our online festival possible.

Your ticket purchases all go towards supporting our mother organization, The Roxy Theater. The Roxy Theater is an non profit arthouse community theater which in normal times shows multiple films in our three theaters every day 363 days a year.

Like many businesses, the pandemic has hit our non profit hard. So, even more so at this time, the purchase of your festival pass means a lot to our organization. Thank you. If you enjoyed our program and feel that you are able, please consider a donation to our theater so we can keep doing what we do.

If you are in or near Missoula, be sure to follow along with @theroxy406. We are continuing to do great events as we can with our Roxy Garden Theater and Centerfield Cinema.

Stay safe, stay healthy, stay connected, and see you in person soon.

Love,

Team MTFF

What a joy to get to connect with some of our film What a joy to get to connect with some of our filmmakers. All 5 feature films include Q&A directly following the films. Click “next” at the bottom of the film to be sure the Q&A plays.

One of the best parts of films festivals is opportunity to hear from the filmmakers and discuss on a deeper level what went in to creating their film. Thank you to our filmmakers for taking the time for the Q&A sessions. We hope you all enjoy a deeper dive into our program.

Today is the final day of the fest. Films and Q&As will be available through the end of today, MST.
